Who is Moe-Mama?

I am a graphic designer, wife, and fairly new mom.

My 17-month-old daughter loves reading books, climbing up onto furniture, running around in the yard and playing with her toys.

My main hope for this blog is to share information about products I’ve used with or for her. Please note that everything you read on this blog is truthful and based on my own experience with the products or items mentioned. My blog does not have sponsors, and no one paid me to give positive reviews of their products.

Since the birth of my daughter in January 2013, I have learned a lot and wanted to find a way to share that information with other new (or expectant) parents.

I was already trying to think of an outlet for all of this recently acquired knowledge, when our energetic new Minnesota Parent editor, Sarah Dorison, asked if I’d be interested in blogging for mnparent.com.

I was so excited about the opportunity (not only because I didn’t have to figure out how to maintain a website) that I started a list of all the products I’ve used, things I’ve learned so far, and other advice for new moms. Before I knew it, I had tons of ideas!

Some of the topics I plan to cover include:
     • traditional toys
     • unexpected favorite toys
     • books (including some that might make you cry)
     • feeding & teething
     • personal care & diapering
     • activity / playtime
     • travel / transport
     • nursery accessories & necessities
     • sleeping
     • nursing / pumping
     • organization
     • useful apps

I'll also offer advice about ways you can extend the life/usefulness of things like your baby mobile, and ways to protect your investment in nursery furniture (crib, dresser, etc.)

My plan is to have groups of posts that relate to the same topic, and want to start out with some great products for making your own baby food easily — I’m not much of a cook, so if I say easy, I mean it.

I'll tell you about things I like, things my daughter enjoys, and other things I’ve learned along the way.

I realize that every parent, pregnancy, and child is different, so what works for my family might not work the same for yours.

If there is a specific topic you have questions about, feel free to email and I'll respond as soon as I'm able.
